Frequently asked questions
Is this a course?
No. Main Street Intel is a data product. We don't teach you how to buy a business — we give you the information to decide which ones are worth your time. No modules, no upsells, no 'community calls' where people pitch you.
How does scoring work?
Every listing is scored on 6 factors: price-to-revenue, cash flow multiple, industry trend, location grade, SBA eligibility, and listing quality. Each factor has a defined point range. The model is deterministic and transparent — you see exactly why a deal scored the way it did.
Can I trust the scores?
Scores are a filter, not a recommendation. A score of 85 means a deal passed 6 quantitative checks and has strong fundamentals on paper. It does not mean you should buy it. Always conduct your own due diligence with qualified professionals.
Are these asking prices or closed prices?
We show asking prices as listed on BizBuySell and other marketplaces. We disclose this clearly. Napkin math is calculated on asking price, which represents a worst-case scenario — most deals close below asking.
What industries do you cover?
We benchmark 44 industries with median revenue multiples, SDE margins, and deal volume data. If it's listed on a major marketplace in the US, we score it.
Who are you?
Main Street Intel is a data product built by operators, not financial advisors. We are not a licensed broker, lender, or fiduciary. Think of us as the Bloomberg terminal for Main Street — Bloomberg never traded a stock.
92% of people who want to buy a business never do.
The other 8% don't have more money or more experience. They have better information. They know which deals are real and which are noise. They stop wasting months on garbage and start spending weeks on opportunities.
